I have had problems all my life with Bronchitis and now at 50, I now have C.O. P. D. - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Funny thing is, I never smoked. Well I tried while I was in the army once or trice, but it nearly killed me when I died! If you are young and haven't started...PLEASE DON'T! AND if you just started, PLEASE STOP! Do you know how many action figures you can buy with that money? Anyway, 6 months ago the VA had me take a CAT scan of my lungs and they found a spot on my left lung. This past Thursday, the spot has shown signs of growth. Since I haven't smoked AND I am not coughing up any blood, I am not a high risk. Hurray for me! We've been trying to get my dad to give up cigars (which he nearly has) and his pipe which he's cut back amazingly well. He's constantly coughing anymore, especially in the winter, and he refuses to demand that the doctor send him for xrays. My mom's threatening to go with him this next time and force the issue. I have no doubt you can beat it no matter what it is. My aunt had lung cancer and beat it so just hang in there.

As for the anti smoking advice, I couldn't agree more with your words, I smoked for 16 years and have recently jacked the habbit for he sake of my two boys. O I often worry about what I've done to my body by smoking all those years, it was a stupid decision to start in the first place but I was young and foolish. So yeah, all you young 'uns who think it's cool because all your mates are doing it, be cool to yourself and don't follow the crowd like a mindless sheep, you'll on;y regret it in the future.

Kinda scary that I've reached a state where I liquidated my transformer collection. Sold some to a friend on here and the rest (3 very large boxes) are heading to my buddy's house to be sold on ebay. I'm even getting rid of some model kits I never built. I've decided to devote myself almost totally to collecting games and game systems. The profits from these will help me get some supplies and upgrade a kickstarter I did for Wasteland 2....[See More]

Actually I'm nearly out the figure game totally. Once I get them shipped to my buddy the cash is going to my retro gaming collection. It wasn't as hard to do as I thought it was going to be. I sold off a bunch more on here a few times. I just don't have the room to display them right.

I moved on and I've probably built up a new collection of random stuff that's just as big ad that collection was. Was it tough to make the decision to get rid of everything? I've found that I'm quite attached to the various things I collect, to the point where I can look at anything on display and remember exactly where it came from, was it a gift, what time of the year it was, etc.

I have a tough time getting rid of anything that was a gift, though I've begun to sell off certain things here and there. After a certain point the monetary value begins to outmatch the sentimental value, y'know?

Just curious if anyone will be going to this show? I've been going now almost every year since 2002. It's a good place to find deals on comics,toys, statues and stuff. They usually have a good media guest line up as well. There is other stuff, but I never have the time to check it all out. The show has been packed lately. Probably due to the rise in popularity of comic based movies and cons in general. I also hit up Detroit FanFare, but that is a smaller show more focused on comics.

I too never meant to ignore this post, I've hardly had time at all to check in this festive season, what with all the present wrapping, unwrapping and playing with said presents. I agree with everything manga said though, awesome people and I always feel honoured I get to help out round here, so tommorow after I've been to the shop to buy some I'll fill my glass with Jack and I shall drink a hearty fill in honour of the realm and all its inhabitants new and old. LA as in Los Angeles and yes it was at the Marriott Hotel right next to LAX. I normally go to the Fanime convention in San Jose but I wasn't doing anything last weekend so I decided to go. There wasn't much in the way of merchandise to buy but the cosplayers more than made it worth the trip.
