Cooler
Dragon Ball Z - Movie Collection (Irwin Toys) - Tubed Packaging
Rated 4.50 stars by Milbury
If you're looking for a Coola to stand head and shoulders above your heroes, look no further! At an even 11' tall counting the tips of his head spikes, this villain is absolutely huge and more than does justice to the towering monster from DBZ Movie 5. He's somewhat slimmer than how he is depicted in other figures, but imo this makes sense for a member of Frieza's race. His only 'accessories' are a detachable tail and face mask, and his articulation is somewhat limited, but for sheer presence on your shelf I rate this cool customer above all other depictions of the character, even the spiffy new S.H.Figuarts version....[See More]
Zach and Smash
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca) - Multi-Packs
Rated 4.70 stars by RMaster007
NECA giving us not one, but two guys pretending to be Ninja Turtles? I'm pretty sure they're trying to tell us something… Zach was one of those characters that were created specifically for the original cartoon, and he also represented what kids wanted to be: a turtle. I've been wanting the "fifth turtle" in the line for a while now, and now my wish has been realized. Paul Harding provided the sculpt for him, and he looks dead-on to the show. I imagine it wasn't easy to get that hairstyle right in three dimensions. Two different head sculpts are included for him: one with the mask and headband, and one without. The paint is very clean, with no bleed at all, though there is one issue that I want to go over. Zach stands around 5" tall, making him a pretty big kid. There's plenty of...[See More]
Robin
DC Multiverse (McFarlane) - Gotham Knights
Rated 4.50 stars by ScarecrowGOF
This is a great Robin. Almost everything about him is perfect. You might have to heat up water to straighten out it's legs and staff. Mine were very crooked. Other than that this figure is awesome. Definitely get it if you are excited for the game....[See More]
Kaneda
3D Animation from Japan (McFarlane) - Akira
Rated 3.50 stars by Milbury
MacFarlane's 20+ year old portrayal of the cocky antihero of the anime classic AKIRA still represents one of the only options fans of the character have for including him in their collections. At 6.75 inches he's rather tall for inclusion in a classic 6 inch figure lineup, though he's perfectly sized for the new 7 inch offerings from MacFarlane. His articulation is extremely limited and he cannot sit on the bike figure that was released alongside him, a hideously glaring mistake to collectors both then and now. But he is crafted well and includes all the accessories one would want a Kaneda figure to have, including his laser rifle, power pack, and even racing goggles (that can barely fit his head). If you're a fan of the character grab him, but if you're not you should probably pass...[See More]
Parasite
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 5
Rated 4.00 stars by Milbury
As of 2022 this is the best Parasite available for a 6-inch collection but the figure is not without his flaws. He has no foot pegs, a strange omission for a DC figure that makes it impossible to stand him on any peg base. He's also (imo) somewhat short for the character, standing at a mere 6.5 inches when fully erect. Put him next to one of the Metallos or especially one of the new DC MULTIVERSE figures and he just looks sad. On the plus side he captures the image of the post-Crisis Parasite perfectly and he's perfectly sized to menace the Superman of a 4-inch collection. All in all, he's a serviceable figure and worthy of a spot on any DC/Superman roster, even for those who wish he was bigger....[See More]
Slash
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Super7) - Ultimates!
Rated 5.00 stars by RMaster007
It's been a good while since we've last got some of Super7's TMNT Ultimates in-hand, and the wait was a lot longer than we thought. Wave 5 was supposed to be out back in March, but we all know how delayed S7 products can get. That wave has already gotten in some reviewers' hands, and should be hitting customers and retailers very soon, but the first new release actually comes from wave 6, and it's my most anticipated release from the line: Slash. Super7 continues to use the same packaging for their Ultimates; a trapezoidal window box with a slipcover. It looks pretty nice thanks to all the unique graphics, and it's not hard to get everything out of it. Slash gets a larger box than usual, just like Muckman, so try to make room for it. I'm fairly certain Four Horsemen are still doing the...[See More]
Gorilla Grodd
DC Multiverse (McFarlane) - Injustice 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Milbury
Definitely the most detailed Grodd ever made. Compared to this bad boy the old Mattel C&C and the Alex Ross version are nothing but damn dirty apes. Has an issue with standing up without his stand (a problem common to top-heavy figures like him) and the articulation is limited but other than that, no complaints....[See More]
Tale of Usagi Yojimbo
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca) - Basic Series
Rated 4.90 stars by RMaster007
The world of indie comics have given us many different icons, including the rabbit swordsman Miyamoto Usagi. While he's the star of Stan Sakai's long-running Usagi Yojimbo comic, he's best known for his crossovers with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, including comics, cartoons, and action figures. Since one of those cartoons was the original 80's one, that means you-know-who gets to make a figure of him. NECA continues to give us great artwork with these releases, harkening back to the days of the F.H.E. video tapes. As per usual, the front is a "fifth panel" that flips open to show off what the figure and all it's accessories look like. Unfortunately, they're held in by those annoying plastic ties, something I wish they'd stop using. The sculpt for Usagi was done by Paul Harding, the...[See More]
Cobra B.A.T.
G.I. Joe (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 4.65 stars by RMaster007
If there's one line of figures I'm excited to be getting soon, it's Super7's G.I. Joe Ultimates. Yeah, Hasbro's ongoing Classified Collection is cheaper and nicer, but I think we can all agree getting figures based directly off the original cartoon is awesome. The first wave of Ultimates won't be out for another month or so as far as I'm concerned, but until then, we got our first released figure during SDCC. It's one of COBRA's Battle Android Troopers, or B.A.T.s, with its comic design rather than the cartoon one. The packaging is standard Ultimates; a trapezoidal box with a slip cover. The slip cover invokes a metallic look, with rivets and peeling paint. The package underneath has a character bio and some nice graphics on the back, and is attractive overall. Surprisingly, there's no...[See More]
Bombshell
Transformers (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 4.50 stars by RMaster007
The first wave of Super7’s Transformers Ultimates is giving us quite the varied line-up, with the face of the franchise, a regular character in a specific variant, a lesser-known character, and a recognizable character in an unrecognizable version. The last of those is the Insecticon Bombshell, but his figure here is based off of his “Action Masters” figure instead of his regular design. We already got Banzai-Tron in this wave, why not give him a friend from his original subline? The Action Masters design for Bombshell seems to have more in common with his original toy design than his cartoon design. The torso is the most similar aspect, and the mouthplate is something shared across the three versions of him. I could go on and on comparing the different ways he looked, so let’s just cut...[See More]
