USB conduit in Custom Workstation by SuperSeanski
Wednesday, June 2, 2021
   [Edit]
Does anybody know the correct name or where you can buy the metal conduit people use for Dr Octopus arms? I know where to get the little USB book lights that use them, but I'm hoping to be able to order like 10' to make some really long arms like he has in the comics....[See More]

Close, but it sounds like it would be to flexible and wouldn't hold its shape when posed. I'm looking for something like this, but in longer lengths.

Use a stiff wire inside the conduit to hold the shape. Like lockwire, or some medium gauge solid core electrical wire.

Marvel Legends Miss Locke in Custom Workstation by XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Wednesday, June 23, 2021
   [Edit]
I decided to make my very first custom figure! I wanted it to be something easy, yet something that maybe no one has done before. So while reading a recent Hellions issue and getting the marvel legends arcade figure in hand I had an epiphany of who I would make my first custom figure! Now it’s not the best thing ever, but I’m pretty happy with it nonetheless. This is the panel that inspired me.

I've never used it, but there is a product caled Worbla that might work. Here's a video of a guy using it, skip to 4:30 to see him make Jokers coat.

Colour Question in Custom Workstation by pasqualester
Tuesday, June 1, 2021
   [Edit]
Hello everyone!
I went into town today to the shop that usually sells Citadel paints - but they're closed! I often go there with bits of action figures to see if they can help me colour match, but until I find a new place, I might need to ask on Figure Realm!

I have the shredded purple cape from the most recent Marvel Legends Morbius, and am looking for some paint (preferably Citadel, because I'm used to it, and it's easy for me to get in the UK) that matches closely with it. Does anyone happen to be clued up on those sorts of things who might be able to help? Thanks!...[See More]

Thanks! That's a top tip! In the end I found another shop that sold those paints - but I'll bear this in mind for next time!

What you can do is get a program like Photoshop, take a picture of the thing and import the picture. Select the color on the screen then go to the RGB color picker in the program. It'll show you where on the spectrum of colors it falls. This way you can see that if the purple falls somewhere closer to blue than red, then you should mix in some blue. If it falls closer to desaturated than saturated, you could mix in some gray to desaturate it a little.
Elbow swivel - does it come off by just forcing? in Custom Workstation by Darth Pyross
Sunday, May 2, 2021
   [Edit]
Hi all,

I was disassembling a figure for a custom and the peg broke (luckily the peg is stuck inside the arm which I wont be using). I thought I could replace the swivel with another one which has an unbroken peg, however I tried to pull the swivel after boiling it but it doesnt come off. I was wondering - is this possible at all? Or is it not possible to take it out without cutting something?

You can do these steps:
1. Heat up the elbow in hot water.
2. Cut and remove the broken joint.
3. Drill a small hole in the elbow where you can insert a toothpick.
4. Find a new peg from fodder and insert it in the elbow ...
Custom request in Custom Workstation by DaniellePlaysWithToys

   [Edit]
I don't make custom action figures just yet (closest is putting Mego Iron Man clothes on an FTC black male body and calling that James Rhodes) so I want someone to make a custom for me.

Did any of you watch Toonami in 2002? If so, you might remember the event they did called "Trapped in Hyperspace." I've been obsessed with the villain of that TIE, Swayzak, ever since I was 13 going on 14 in 2016, and I really want an action figure of him. His design seems pretty toyetic.

[Picture]

Here's the problem, though. His full body was only shown in the online game tie-in to the event, which has been lost media since 2004 and is only partially found (not any of the stuff with him in it, sadl...[See More]
Boil and pop in Custom Workstation by corvus037
Sunday, May 23, 2021
   [Edit]
Hi guys, so recently I’ve started using the boil and pop method on some figures, but out of curiously I decided to google how safe it is, as I’ve heard nothing bad about it, and have had no problems myself, and I come across a forum stating how putting plastic in near boiling/hot water “changes plastic on a molecular level” and leads to the plastic becoming more brittle & paint fading, so my question is this, have you boil & popped in the past and it’s lead to the plastic becoming brittle, paint fading etc? Sounds like a load of BS to me but thought I’d ask as I can get a bit OCD about figures lol...[See More]

That's the first I've heard of that happening, though I really don't frequent any groups or communities outside of Figure Realm, and I haven't used the boil and pop method since doing my first handful of figures, prefering to heat parts with a hair dryer, but, last I checked, those figures I boiled are still fine after seven years. It may be possible with REPEATED boilings of the same parts over an extended period of time, but how often is that going to happen unless you're an obsessive continually updating and revising the same figure? It could also be the case with knock offs using lower quality paints and plastics, and, fact is, plastics will degrade and become brittle with age and surrounding environmental conditions (whether they are displayed in routine direct sun or UV light, exposu ...

Thanks man, yeah it definitely sounds like a conspiracy theory or something haha! I did think as I was reading that forum post “why is boil and pop so popular then if it’s “damaging/changing plastic on a molecular level” if it did anything of the sort no one would be using it, I think most collectors are pretty precious about their figures, I know I am, so no one would be doing it in that case! But glad to hear you’ve had no problems with the figures you did it to, I got a bit paranoid about the ones I did it to after I read that theory!

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this, but I am looking to get a custom action figure done. I want a 7" figure of Wonder Woman from the 2011 Wonder Woman pilot. I can provide pictures. If anyone can help me out, or who can point me toward someone who can, I would be much obliged. Thank you....[See More]

1:12 👌 hands in Custom Workstation by SuperSeanski
Saturday, March 27, 2021
   [Edit]
I'm trying to find some 1:12 hands doing the okay/3D gesture? Was there any Dudley Boyz figures that came with these hands or possibly a set of hands that has this in it?

I want to make a MOTU Origins Bonesaw McGraw and I need that hand for the 3 minute gesture....[See More]

You could probably make it yourself. If you have a hand with the fingers splayed, heat up the hand with a hair dryer, then bend and glue the pointer and thumb finger together.
