Hi, guys !

After „the matriarch“-warg was almost finished, I‘ve decided to start to work on it‘s „lordling“, as well and post both together, later on.

The Base-figure is the 7“-SDCC-Azog, of course. Besides it‘s extremely „neutral“ facial expression, the
very limited head-articulation was bugging me.
When standing opose to the shorter Thorin-figure : kept starring straight forward instead of down. ...or riding the warg...staring on the warg‘s back, instead of straight forward. That needed to be improved.

Recipe :

Cut off the neck; hollowed it out and inserted the neck-swivel-joint, of a Gothmog-figure, to get more back ‚n forth-articulation, of the head, which peg-port, I‘ve also modified.

Cut off chin/ modified and resculpted face/mouth/teeth.
Dremeled off the backside of shins and resculpted it.
Cut off material from above the buckle/Belt and carved out the teeth above the buckle.
Remodeled the loincloth into hip-armor-plates with the dremel.
Reshaped shinguards and sculpted trimming on it.
Sculpt body-armor; loin-protector; shoulder armor; right hand-guard and fur, everywhere.
Cut the „swordblade“ from a 2mm-plastic-sheet.
(Sword-attachment : left a stump, of the original claw-weapon, about one inch long. Spliced it in half, inserted the new blade; additionally locked it in place, by driving a needle through everything and glued it together, before I‘ve sculpted over it)

Elongate spike, at left elbow, by inserting a bent needle and sculpt over it.
Cut off/ rearrange and sculpt spikes on right forearm-guard.
Cut slots into right hand and inserted spikes.
Dremeled down original loincloth and glued faux-leather onto it.

Both shoulder-armor are attached with a rubber-strip to the traps, so the armes can move freely still.

The paintjob had some new challenges. That armor has a quite unique tint, which was fun to experience on. It required a different layering, than the armor, I usually paint. To repaint the eyes was fun too, since they are super-tiny. I gave `em the original lightblue color; bigger pupils and rednesses on both sides.

Skin-tone :
Vallejo surface primer „grey“
Went with a mixture of :
Rakarth flesh
Flayed one flesh
Bugman‘s glow
Pallid Wych flesh
over it.

Scars : mixture of : white scar; bugman‘s glow and maccrage blue

Armor:
Imperial primer
Lead belcher
Stormhost Silver
White scar
U
Further colors :
Ulthuan grey
Rhinox hide
Hoeth blue
white scar
Agrax earthshade
Rhyza rust.

Sealed with Valejo matt varnish.

I hope you enjoy it !

CHEERS !

Man, you absolutely nailed this! Great resculpt on the face, the armor is excellently realized and overall just an amazing custom creation. I'm so jealous that this figure isn't in my collection!

THANKS, Man ! I really appreciate it ! Great, you like it ! Yeah, I‘d say, this is my personal best, so far. Bummer, the resolution of the pictures „swallow“ a lot of tiny details, like rivets ect. Anyways ! Great, you‘re back ! CHEERS !

Yeah I agree the SDCC is lacking in articulation and detail and that muted grey colour also doesn’t work needs to be more white, Nice paint job you've achieved with this, I will be getting some of the paints you suggested. I’m still not happy with my SDCC one and might just repaint the guy and alter hi eyes as I feel those are a bit on the small side. Nice job on this! It does take a lot of work to get from A to B on this figure. Great job!
