Dr. Joar Mahkent came to the United States with his newest invention, a device that could instantly freeze things and went a crime spree until he was eventually stopped by the original, and greatest, Green Lantern, Alan Scott. As a member Crime Champions and Injustice Society of the World, Icicle would go on to face the Earth-2 Justice Society until his death during the original Crisis on Infinite Earths. Later on his son who had no need for the cold ray due to years of exposure to it, went on to assume the mantle once held by his father.


Icicle is mostly a DCUC Captain Boomerang figure. I wanted someone who looked a little thinner, as Icicle always looked slim, so he seemed the like a good starting base. Also, he was also shown with wrinkles in his insulation suit, so the sleeves lended to that appearance, so it was just a matter of adding wrinkles to his legs, and then sculpting his unique boot and glove cuffs. The collar piece is just a trimmed up collar from a DCUC Dove figure. The head was more of an issue, as I wanted something with a pointy look, and the old ToyBiz Namor had a good face with a bit of a haughty disdain in his scowl. Then I just sculpted on his hat. The ray gun was a modified DCUC Kamandi gun with the round piece being made from moldable plastic and glued on. Since he's all white, I gave him several blue washes to add the shading, and give what I felt, more of a cold appearance. Cool, no?
