I created this figure with parts left over from cleaning out my spare parts bin. It's something I've been playing around with in between other projects.

Once the king of Phrygia, Midas was a
greedy man who lived in luxury while his people suffered. Given the golden touch by Dionysus he was overjoyed until discovering he could no longer eat or drink as the minute it touched his mouth,teeth, or tongue, it turned to gold. Hungry and thirsty he returned to Dionysus and begged for the golden touch to be removed. It was only then that the being he thought was Dionysus revealed himself to be an elder demon. The demon took over Midas's kingdom and cursed him to spend all eternity guarding the gold he so coveted. Now Midas walks the lonely halls of his once great kingdom. His mere touch now not only turning everything he touches to gold but also painfully growing spikes of pure gold out of his corrupted body which is now as black as his soul.
