The man tells Matt Murdock how a woman had granted him custody of little Natasha just before his death during the Battle of Stalingrad in the autumn of 1942. Canadian agent and hero disguised as Wolverine, to rescue Natasha from the Nazis.3 A revised reconnaissance of her origin, she establishes how to be raised from early childhood by the program "Black Widow Operations" of the USSR, instead of only by Ivan Petrovich.4 Petrovitch had taken her to Department X, along with other orphans Young, where she had been brainwashed and trained in combat and espionage in the covert installation of the "Red Room". There, she is biotechnologically and psychotechnologically enhanced, an accounting that provides a rational basis for her unusually long and youthful lifespan. During that time she had some low training with the Winter Soldier, and the couple even had a brief romance.5 Each Black Widow unfolds with false memories to help ensure their loyalty. Romanova eventually discovers this, including the fact that never, as she had believed, had she been a dancer. Also, discover that the Red Room is still active as "2R". Natasha was organized by the KGB to marry the famous Soviet test pilot Alexei Shostakov. However, when the Soviet government decided to make Alexei his new operative, the Red Guardian, he is told he can not have more contact with his wife. They tell Natasha that he died and that he is trained as a secret agent separately. ![]() |
