Hey everyone. Continuing in Strong Guy’s giant foot steps, my next reveal is also part of the 90’s X-Factor Team. In fact, he is the leader of the pack. Equipt with his open jacket and 90’s thigh/boot straps, here’s Havok!

As I stated with the last reveal, 90’s X-Factor is my next priority team to complete. Unfortunately, the rest of my year is booked up with secret swap figures (3 to be exact, one of which is not a secret… it’s classic Yondu) and a commission (MCU Age of Ultron Captain America built on an Infinity War Cap body), so Havok here will be the last custom of 2018 going to the X-Factor ranks. I will resume the team with Polaris and Wolfsbane as my first 2 projects of 2019. I am very excited to scratch this team off my to do list and move onto the next one: X-Force. Woo! 90s!

Much like his larger partner in crime, Havok was assembled from an interesting mix of parts. He is mostly built on the bucky cap body (Odin Hawkeye to be exact with Cyclops lower legs) with Spider Man UK feet, Ghost Rider shoulders, MCU Dr. Strange upper arms and elbows, Havok lower arms, Spider Man hands, the collar from a Nick Fury jacket and a head from my buddy New Collector (which I believe is an original head cast from Casting Cave).

I do realize that this recipe made Havok’s arms look a little gangly, but by the time I realized it, it was a mix of being too late to fix it and that I didn’t really care to fix it. So it stayed as is. Plus it didn’t really bother me that much as I seldom have him posed with his hands by his side which is when it is most noticeable.

There was a decent amount of sculpting that went into Havok. Majority of the work was done using Apoxie Sculpt, the exception being the Procreate used for the details on the leg and boot straps. His torso has been fully resculpted after I glued the jacket collar in place. I also sculpted the belt, the lower arm jacket sleeves, and the leg and boot straps.

He was painted using my standard comic style paint application. He has 3 shades of yellow and 4 shades of blue. And because I painted him at the same time as Strong Guy, I saved myself some time by killing 2 birds with one stone. They share a color palette, which worked well for consistency amongst the uniforms (they’re pretty close to Multiple Man too).

Overall, I am pretty stoked about how Havok turned out. I was particularly happy with the sculpting on the jacket, and the leg straps are the best I’ve ever done (I try to improve every time I sculpt them). He looks great standing next to Strong Guy and the officially revealed multiple man’s (plural). I am beyond stoked to continue working on the team in 2019.

Up next… its a secret!! I will finally be able to share one of my recent secret projects. It will be revealed once my recipient receives it in the mail.
