Mortis is a force sensitive ( has some connection to the force but is unable to harness and control it ) Dathomirian. Mortis's connection manifests itself in the form the Night Sisters call Battle Lust. As Mortis becomes engaged in battle, an aura forms around him that causes sentient beings to experience a sever panic attacks and often are the cause of their own demise . Unless they are aligned with Mortis, his allies experience a boost in stamina and courage. The night sisters had hoped he would be chosen to be Darth Sidious's apprentice. When he was not chosen, he lashed out and escaped to seek his own fate. Working for Zimbatu the Hutt he was given his own ship but he wanted to find his own crew. They are a motley bunch but are fiercly loyal to Mortis ( they become addicted to the affects of the Battle Lust aura).
