This is a 12” custom I have just finished working on of a character called Mrs. Ghost who is from James Flora's classic children's book titled ‘Grandpa’s Ghost Stories – The House of the Ghastly Ghost’. To make her I used a random 12" articulated female body (similar to Barbie) & the head from a Barbie doll. I started by cutting her legs off below the knees & also sawed her neck off. I then attached a metal rod inside the neck hole to ensure the new longer thinner neck would not snap easily. I then cut off Barbie’s face & rooted woolen hair into her head. After that I sculpted her a new face & neck & then painted her using enamel paints. Her hands came from a monster high ‘Clawd Wolf’ doll & were also repainted. I then made her outfit using some white lycra fabric & made her an under skirt from some white tulle to help give her outfit more volume. I then added some plastic chains which I found online. To complete the figure I made her stand from a block of clear Perspex & a Perspex rod which helps make the figure look like she is floating. ![]() |
