Inhumanoids Earth Corps (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:9714
Name:Inhumanoids Earth Corps
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:boskoes
Date Added:September 5, 2008
Base Figure:Iron Mongor
Height:6.00 inches
Iron Mongor with the removable helmet and chest armor seemed like the perfect base figure for these fellas so we broke out our vintage Inhumanoids stash and got to work. We used the original headsculpts from the 80's line (rediculous I know), but we wanted these guys to have an ol'school feel. We changed up our paint technique a bit too, going easy on the dry brushin', and kept the primer grey color as a base coat instead of our usual flat black mix. The result I think is a much more retro paint set up, since the colors aren't so punctuated with detail, and are of course brighter since we weren't going over black. Hope you guys dig

I can't get over these customs - the original line is lost to antiquity but leave it to Boskoes to rescue it from obscurity. I love the use of vintage parts coupled with a new base figure and awesome paint application - it is the perfect nod to the old school figures.
I remember loving the concept of inhumanoids but being disapointed in my vintage Herc and Liquidator figures because of the undersized heads and "v" shaped pelvis that killed the leg artticulation. These customs are what I always imagined they figures could be if they weren't subject to cost cutting measures and a rush to market.
I could even see these customs neatly linked back to the Marvel Universe: Imagine if Stark Enterprises reclaimed Obadiah Stain's Iron Monger designs post his battle and defeat at the end of the Iron Man movie. Stark ,being more philanthropically minded than before, allows the eager Dr. Dereck Bright to re-tool the Monger deigns for geologic reseach on "aborations" he's detected around the Earth's core. Initially the exo-suits are used by the Earth Corps team members to traverse the rigors of underground exploration. But soon the Corps discover that the siesmic anomolies they are investigating are caused by the awaikening of the Inhumanoids. Luckily the suits were originally developed for combat application and the Corps prove a formidible force against the Inhumanoid onslaught.
I just finished some sketches of a custom Metlar based on the roto-cast Hulk figure released around the 2003 movie. Makes for a pretty good update. Once my work schedule calms down I'm all over it.
