Arwen Evenstar is one of my favourite characters in the lord of the rings and I was always disappointed with the two figures made of her. One was the horseback one either with rubber legs and a softgoods dress or one with normal legs and a vinyl dress on certain variants and the other was the coronation figure which whilstnit had the better of the two facial likeness, it wasn’t well articulated and it’s vinyl dress prevented any posing. So I was thinking what I consider to be Arwen’s most iconic look and to me it’s this dress, it’s also the one Liv Tyler was gifted. So I took a coronation Arwen and Eowyn and mixed them together so I could have a super articulated Arwen figure instead of the manaquin like figure we got. I then sewed a dress with some velvet I ordered and reaculpted her hair using the witch from a Doctor Who figure, the lower half of Arwen coronations har for the right length and then the left side of coronation Eowyns hair so I could have the one side sweeper over look. I also used the old black cat marvel legends arms to add a swivel to the arms and placed arwens arms in Eowyns sleeves with that wrist swivel to allow the wrists to be seen as intended by Ngila the head of the costume department during the LotR films. I made the dress long enough to cover her feet and wide enough to get her into a fighting stance, not that she ever fought in this dress but it looks cool and is practical allowing her to sit or stand and pose well. I had to reaculpt her neck as the Eowyn had a necklace on and I wanted to have her neck bare so if I had a lose Evenstar I could have her wear it or not. Really happy how this came out, I might make a rider figure of her also but not any time soon, but here’s a nice addition and brief detour from my usual Hobbit customs. Hope you all like her!
