While combing over all the Green Arrow figures made, the DC Universe Classics Wave 9 Figure 7 has the best classic 1970’s looking sculpt. This is how I remember him looking from DC comics in the 60’s & 70’s. This figure has the same costume and I especially like how the hands are perfectly formed to hold his bow and arrow. Everything about this figure is awesome except for the bow has an arrow fixed into it and the archery quiver on his back is one solid chunk of plastic stuck into his back. It’s not even removable. Here is my modification. Boiled and pried the quiver off his back. Packed the resulting “trough” in his back with apoxie and shaped it to complete his upper back. Painted with black primer, then used Army Painter Warpaints “Angel Green.” Took the sword sheath from a Toy Biz Taskmaster and made it Green Arrow’s new quiver. It looks a little long but I think looks good and fits the body well. I had to cut off and add brown paint to a little blue plastic peg that didn’t aesthetically match. I put a little piece of foam inside the bottom of the new quiver so the arrows could continue to stick out the top. I searched online for action figure bows with a functioning string. I found one but it cost approx $20 and didn’t look the best. Instead, I opted to spend $29.95 for the DC Comics Icons: The Longbow Hunters figure which has several arrows and a bow with elastic string. If I was going to spend $20 might as well spend $10 more and get a 2nd figure. This bow is used in all these photos and fits great. The boxing glove arrow (seen in the quiver in some photos) came with the original DC Classics figure. ![]() |
