It has been so long since I've gotten to fix up an Amalgam figure. I've been dying to, but just haven't been able to fit them into the schedule. Or have enough spare bodies to give any a go. But, I did finally make the time to get around to Super Soldier! Probably the simplest of the ones I still want to make. He was the amalgamation of Superman and Captain America, and one of the more popular concepts to come out of the series. I'd probably put him at third. With Spiderboy being second and Dark Claw being number one.

Working off the Captain America base made the process much simpler. It wasn't so much a full painting process as it was getting the colors to match. So I did have to repaint all the blue, and all the red. And then the skin tone to match up, too. Cut off the top of his head and sanded down the A, then sculpted up the hair. The shield was fully sculpted, along with a strap so it would fit over his arm and actually stay. Something I worked out when making some Conan figures last year. Full repaint, and all done!
