I've just started getting into the 'Game of Thrones' series (I'm late to the show, I know) and have really been enjoying the lore and story. I've had a few armored/knight figures sitting around for a while and I finally found a few good ideas for them. This was an easy figure, just a simple repaint. The original figure was a LOTR Eomer, which of course, looked nothing like the actor who played Eomer. The head sculpt did strike me as pretty good towards being a good Robert Baratheon figure, especially in his prime during Robert's Rebellion, before he became king and got old and fat. Like I said, pretty basic repaint. I ripped off his hair, repainted it black and then glued it back on. Then I redid his beard in black. I went over the body with some light coats of black and silver drybrushing to make it look worn and then hit his boots with some brown to make them look dirty, everything was then hit with sealer. His weapon was a tricky part. In the story, Robert wields a war hammer. I didn't have anything resembling one, which was a problem. I did have this outrageous axe though, which I trimmed down to make look more like an axe/hammer hybrid. I've been on the fence about its outcome-feeling it still looks massive, but in the lore, Robert is known for being exceptionally strong and a bit outrageous in his youth, so in the long run, I felt like giving him a more ridiculous looking weapon fits his tank status. -14 points of movement -Custom paint job -Sealed to help protect the paint -War hammer weapon -Spring loaded swivel waste for "Swinging Action" ![]() |
