Learned some stuff while making this, which is a sign that we can always improve. -The "armor" is made from scraps of leather and fur, cut to shape and hand-sewn. Even though the leather was thin, it needed to be even thinner, so I practiced skiving it with a knife. Sewing it was a a pain in the arse, takes so much force to punch the needle through, even when the leather is this thin. -The arms were floppy so I stuffed some plastic wrap in there and it worked great for stiffening them. -The upper torso is connected with a LEGO pin so it can detach easily (and be raised to move the upper body without scraping off paint). -When painting nipples, you can give them a sculpted look by simply using enough paint so that it bulges a little. Dab some on there to make the areola, then add a little blob for a raised nipple. I imagine this works for light scars and stuff too, way better than sculpting them and risking having them scrape off. This should have been a quick job, but life keeps getting in the way. I'm thankful for very, very patient customers. (Also, if anyone has suggestions for a really durable sealer, please let me know. I fear I'm going to have to find some kind of really thin brush-on superglue because it's the only thing that actually protects a paintjob.) ![]() |
