I was never able to get the Toys R Us exclusive 2-pack variant of Natasha in her 80's/early 90's grey Black Widow costume, and I always wanted a figure of her in it; she wore it for quite a while and it's thus a must have. So, when the Vintage Widow figure went up for sale, I resolved to get a few, with this being one of the costumes I knew I had to make for Nat.

Head: Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers; unmasked head)
Body and bracelets: Vintage Black Widow figure
Collar: Casting Cave cast
Jacket: 90's ToyBiz 5" Marvel's Gold Black Widow figure

I went for the unmasked Carol head; I liked the windswept look it brings to the character, plus the short hair is accurate to the look I was going for with this custom. Said hair was painted a bright red, as was typical of her comic appearances of the time. I painted her eyes green and gave her face and neck/upper chest a matching skin tone. I painted the rest of her outfit, including the collar, a nice grey color. The spider symbols I painted were done with a flat black after drawing them out with pencil. I then slapped on a jacket since it was the cool thing for female characters to wear in the 90's (at least when she was with the Avengers). I'm very glad to have this version of Natasha finally; she looks great in so many different displays.
