This is another custom I have just finished work on who is based on the character Jem from the classic cartoon series ‘Jem & the Holograms.
I was asked to make this figure in the style of the classic She-Ra Princess of Power figures which were also released in the 80’s.
Her overall look is based on the vintage 12” Jem doll but with some adjustments to help make her fit in better with the vintage POP line.
To make her I used the head from a She-Ra figure, upper body & arms from a Castaspella figure & legs from an Angella figure.
I rerooted the outer pink sections of her hair using pink nylon doll hair & left the blonde under sections from the original She-Ra hair that was already there. Her hair was then cut & styled using the boiling water method.
Her costume was painted using Humbrol enamel paints & I used glitter for her tights.
I made her skirt using some fabric from the actual 12” Jem doll along with silver faux leather for the belt section.
Her earrings were 2 star shaped craft gems.
