This is my first custom! Beast is one of my favorite X-Men and I was excited to get his first appearance figure from the All New X-Men Box set, but as we all know the articulation on that figure was lacking. I wanted a more poseable Beast so I decided to take a stab at it myself.

I tried to do a little of everything to practice. Took parts from different figures, sculpted pieces, and enhanced the paint with some blue highlights. (See comparison with original figure)

All in all the Sand Man arms attached to the existing shoulder pieces added the mass and size I was looking for without being too large, while the Captain America head was a tad smaller than the original head. Altogether I feel they gave Hank the right, slightly out of proportion look. When compared to his blue furry version it's easy to believe that it's his next stage of evolution.

Recipe:
All New X-Men Beast torso and legs (the legs, especially the feet on the original figure were already pretty perfect)
SDCC Sandman Arms with added sculpting for bulk + sculpted arm hair
Secret Wars Captain America Head with sculpting over the ears and added a sculpted seam line down the middle of the head
