I drilled a hole in shadowfax and attached the spring pegs from an Angel toybiz figure so it will retain its articulation.

I sealed the holes and painted them to blend with the rest of the body. Painting it was challenging due to the varying shades of shaowfax.

Nice work. Gonna give this a try, IF I can find a cheap white LOTR horse. This is the one that comes with Gandalf , if I’m not mistaken ?

There's an LOTR set which has Arwen and her horse Asfaloth, which is very similar to Shadowfax. I think the main differences are more gray highlights and a saddle, which kind of limits the wing placement. I managed to score a complete set, loose, for less than $20 over the summer, so you may want to be on the lookout for that figure as an alternative.
