Wolverine Brown

Body: ML6 Brown Wolverine
Heads: X-Men Evolution Wolverine, X-Men Classics 2 HoM Wolverine unmasked, ML6
Hands: DCUC fists, Jubilee wave Wolverine, ML6

Inspired by the amazing brown Wolverines of Dustin Baetz and Loosecollector, who was the first I saw put an X-Men Evolution head on the ML6 body. The brown costume has always been my favorite, and while the ML 6 Wolverine was good enough, I wanted to give it the extra boost I had given to my other favorite characters, including the ongoing Tigerstripe Wolverine custom I had.

First thing was to match a paint color to the hip ball joints. If I can leave those balls the factory raw plastic, paint rub becomes a non-issue, but you can paint the legs and chest and put as much shading as you like on it. And paint up the other tan color but leave the arms factory, so no issues with those joints either.

I always liked that big chunky belt he was drawn with by Jim Lee, like in the team spot in his early Uncanny issues. I built that from Apoxie Sculpt and some acrylic sheeting cut into strips. The heads include the X-Men Evolution head, the ML6 head of course, and the House of M Wolverine from the 2nd ToyBiz X-Men line, which I always liked. A lot of the ToyBiz headsculpts were pretty sweet. Plus a cast of the hood from the unmasked variant of the Face Off Wolverine from the customizers best friend: The Casting Cave, and my unmasked look was complete.

For hands I keep the ML6 ones, and use two sets of DCUC fists, one that has a cast of ML6's claws, nice, stiffer ones actually that I got from a guy on TheFwoosh, I dug out a little channel to attach them on those fists, and there's a duplicate set of DCUC fists without claws, that I sculpted the silver claw sheaths on them. So they can swap out and match, but I also added in the hands from the X-Men Wolverine that has the tiny claws you can put in or remove.
