It's no secret that anime artist Akira Toriyama found inspiration by the story of Superman when he created the Dragonball serie. Toriyama unique and fun looking art style with some similarities of the Superman storyline is what made Dragonball hugely popular in the states.

My favorite story arcs from the Dragonball Z serie were the Trunks,Android and Cell saga. These connecting saga had time traveling like in the movie Back to the Future, Killer androids like in Terminator looking to eliminate Goku and the Z fighters. These 3 dangerous androids were created by Dr. Gero to get his revenge against Goku and his friends. They are named Android 17, 18 and 16, human cyborgs similar to the Terminators seeking to kill Goku which will potentially change the future for the worse. Android 17, 18 and 16 mission is to cause destruction and havoc in the society like the trio of General Zod,Ursa and Non did in the movie Superman 2. It's up the the Z fighters to stop them, but the question is can they win without a ill Goku?

SH.Figuarts mass produced near perfect renditions of these three androids in Toriyama anime style. Have you ever wondered how Android 17, 18 and 16 would look if they were made in a style like Marvel Legends? Here is my attempt on making custom android figures in that style.


Android 17:

Head: DC Superman with Sota Remy hair and sculpt

Base: Sota SF Remy, legs were shorten and modified, torso has added sculpt

Arms: ML Black Bolt with sculpted arm sleeves

Feet: ML Ann O'Brien with added sculpt.

Waist belt,neck bandana and open hand came from fodder


Android 18:

Head: DC collectibles Power Girl

Base: ML Wasp with modified Rogue jacket with sculpted pockets and blouse

Lower Arms: ML Movie Jean Grey with Ms Marvel fist and Wasp open hand

Boots: WWE Renee Young with sculpted belt strap

Belt and short skirt came from fodder


Android 16:

Head: Toybiz Collosus with Ms Marvel mohawk and sculpt

Base: ML Bulldozer with modification and sculpt done to his harness

Lower Arms: ML Piledriver with some sculpt

Boots: DC Motuc style Dark Knight Batman with sculpt

Hip armor is from fodder.

Finally painted all three Androids as seen in the anime Dragonball Z and they were done

Hopefully Dbz fans like my alternate Marvel Legends style version of androids 17, 18 and 16. I have some pictures next to their SH figuarts counterpart to compare.
