Kurt Angle is a hero. He is YOUR Olympic hero. He won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Atlanta summer Olympic Games. WITH A BROKEN FRICKIN' NECK! As a kid I never initially liked Kurt Angle. Initially he was an overconfident, self-important, preachy "role model" who slowly transformed into a pure wrestling machine. I became a fan of his in summer 2001 when he became the heart and soul of the WWF and took on the WCW/ECW Alliance. Since then, Kurt has gone through a few minor changes, especially in his intensity. A team leader, a cyborg, a dominating force in the title scene, and one tough SOB. He is a true inspiration who bleeds red, white and blue. Although I'm British, that still resonates with me, and his never-say-die attitude meant I had to make a custom of him as tribute. I used a Bret Hart figure upper body, with Santino Marella legs for the shorts. Gave him knee and elbow pads and white boots. The head was from an old Jakks Pacific figure from 2001 that I had to dremel/hollow out to fit the neck peg. I gave him a full attire repaint, all hand painted. And to finish it off, a quick "gold medal" using hobby store accessories. So here is the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Intensity, Integrity, Intelligence. ![]() |
