My display is a 616 (mainstream) Marvel display so having an Ultimate version of an obscure character didn't do it for me, especially since I'd rather have a more famous Spidey villain. I had a USB light which is used normally for doc ock customs, but since I only had one I thought I could apply it to Beetle and make it Scorpion. Beetle's design really lent itself to Scorpion's, particularly a more modern Scorpion.
I made a hole in Beeetle's back, inserted the USB light wire (obviously the USB and light parts were cut off). I secured the tail with glue and a rubber ring I found that fit the tail perfectly. I cut off the head thingies and smoothed it out with some sandpaper. I cut off the figure's middle finger so he only had three fingers based on some of the artwork of Ultimate Scorpion. I cut off the tips of the fingers and replaced them with toothpicks for claws. I used a portion of his removable wings for the "backpack" that we often see with the character that usually connects to his tail. the rest of the wings were used for fodder like his arm gauntlets and some of his tail end which also used some other rubber and missile fodder.
I painted him black then drybrushed all the green and added yellow highlights. I really like how this came out and much prefer it to having Beetle in my collection.
