This was a happy mistake. I was planning to make a Carnage Doc Ock but never got round to it and then thought: "why don't I just make Bombur out of Doc Ock. He's already fat and just needs to be pushed over that ordinary fat level to super fat. So got to work and after a lot of sculpting here we are. I reaculpted the face especially the mouth entirely to a passive open mouth expression he often has. Used plastic twist ties (tips my hat to Bastila for that great idea) for the hair, but wanted it to look like the hair so sculpted onto it, added the side burns , tonsur haircut, the moustache, the double chin, eyebrows, had to resculpted the entire forehead shortening the head and removing the expressions and reshape the hose adding bulk all over his face and copyying the exact hair design and pushing the ears out further. Needless to say took a lot of work on his head. I removed the lower arms above the joint then using the arms of a 3.75" Gandalf and the hands of of Legolas figure I replaced the missing lower arms. The trousers were a combination of taking rubber trench coat arms off a figure as they bend and looked like his trousers and then using s cut from an aragorns coat for the middle part. Bombur is fat, so when I say fat he is so fat (this isn't a yo mama joke) that he pulls his oversized trousers over his apron fat belly (the chub and tuck) and makes him look like a pear shape. So I've achieved this whilst keeping the articulation. The boots are just sculpted simply and the mittens are miliput impressions woth a piece of chainmail from an Aragorn to give them that wool knotted look. I made him way fatter than he used to be drawing inspiration from the extended edition films behind the scenes and looking at the fat suits/ muscle suits for each Dward which I highly recommend. You may have noticed he not only had his cooking tool weapon but also a butchers knife. Bombur is the cook in the company and does indeed carry this knife after much research following seeing the warhammer figure of him with a knife. Both were made from miliput, plastic sheets and a kebab skewer. I chose Legolas' hands because they were larger and him being more than plus sized he needs bigger hands. His coat obviously is an Aragorns which I cut out a portion st the back then sewed it up (yes you can sew plastic). The bag is just a long step stuck onto sams bag with the water pouch removed and sculpted over. So yeah I really fattened him up all over to get the right proportions keeping him taller than Bilbo but shorten than some others and I'm genuinely pleased with how he's come out. All details were sculpted from miliput, this is my second to last Dwarf until I take a hiatus, the one I'm working on will take this week probably maybe more, then the next one should be quicker but after that I have no desire to make any others for a while so the race is not on! XD Hope you all like! Please wait... |
