This was a relatively quick repaint of two figures slotted together and uses a recipe that is fairly old and well known. That being said, I should clarify that this isn't MY recipe, I simply adopted it. The upper half of the figure comes from McFarlane's "Red Team Leader" bought in the two pack that came with "Red Team Leader" and "The Master Chief". The bottom half comes from a standard McFarlane Halo Reach figure. The two pieces actually came together fairly easily, without any surgery needed by me. I used dry brushes of Citadel paints, Testors dullcote finish spray, and a small bottle of gloss finish for the repaint. I based the paint job off of Jerome's appearance in Halo Wars 2. I wanted to do this guy because the Halo Wars design for the Mark IV armor system is by far my favorite aesthetic and I wanted to bring that design into the Reach scale. As with all my customs though, this has fallen victim to the "Wait, did I scuff the paint, do I need to repaint that?!" syndrome of paranoia. Eh, you win some you lose some! ![]() |
