Once More... The Mandarin!

When I started thinking about making a Mandarin, I knew that I wasn't going to be done with the character with just the classic version. I did want to do something a little more modern as well. For this one, I used that single low res image that floats around where the Mandarin is based on his look from the '94 Iron Man cartoon. For that reason, I'm calling this "The 90s Mandarin". That cartoon, and its action figures, is my first expose to Iron Man, so doing a custom that is based on it was a lot of fun. I constantly had it playing in the background while I was working on this guy. For this custom, I used a LCBH Ripclaw for the head. It was my first experience completely repainting a face. In terms of customs, I think that is by far the best choice for a Mandarin head sculpt. I used the Beetle torso to give him an armored look. His overlay is a mix of Dormammu's (courtesy of phineas curmudgeon) and Baron Zemo. For his rings, this time around I sculpted them. I like the way it came out, and I may have to go back and give Classic Mandarin the same treatment.
