This is a crossover custom figure I was asked to make of Miss Piggy as She-Ra (Piggy-Ra). To make her I used a vintage She-Ra figure & a Miss Piggy (Pigs in Space) figure as my 2 main base figures. After removing She-Ra’s head, I cut off her hands & lower legs (just below the boot line) which I replaced with the hands & feet from the Miss Piggy figure. I then sanded down her chest to leave a flat surface. Next I took the chest plate from a 200x she-Ra figure & attached it to the area I had sanded. I then sculpted around the chest plate to give Piggy a fuller figure. Once the sculpted section had set I repainted the figure using Humbrol enamel paints. After that I started work on Piggy-Ra’s head. I started by removing the plastic hair from the Miss Piggy figure & made her a tiara using the front & side sections of the 200X She-Ra’s tiara. I attached these sections to her head then joined them together by sculpting in the missing spaces using a product called ‘Fixit Sculpt’. Once the sculpt had set I painted the tiara with gold enamel paints & added a little red craft jewel in the centre. To give her rooted hair I got an old Barbie doll & cut her hair off around the hairline using a sharp craft knife. I then glued the Barbie scalp directly onto Piggy’s head. It was actually a perfect fit so I did not need to make any adjustments to it. I then curled & styled her hair using the boiling water method. To make her skirt/belt I started off by cutting out a belt shaped template out of paper. Next I got some self adhesive gold foil which I stuck onto some faux leather. After that I used my template to cut out the belt shape in the leather /foil. To the front of her belt I attached a small design which was cut out of some gold holographic tape. I then got some white lycra fabric & hand stitched it around the bottom of the belt to make her skirt. To finish it off I stitched 2 popper buttons to the back of the belt. Her cape was made from a red light weight, stretch velvet fabric. I then threaded some gold beads onto some elastic & stitched them to the top of her cape. This was to resemble Piggy’s famous pearl necklace but also to keep Piggy’Ra’s cape in place around her neck. To complete her I gave her an MOTUC She-Ra sword which I attached a crystal craft jewel to. Her articulation points are her head, arms, legs & she also possesses She-Ra’s famous ‘power punch’ waist action. ![]() |
