Hey, Fellows !
Welcome back to the battle of the five armies !

Here's the Gundabad captain, who stands beside Azog, atop Ravenhill, commanding the orc-troops, by using an impressive flag-system and a hudge horn.

That signal-system looks really, really cool, imo. Definitely worth an episode of sheldon's "fun with flags", I'd say. ;-)

To re-visit my habit, of inventing names for "my" orcs, just for the fun of it...let's call him "Zignùl".

I like the design of that charakter a lot and I'm really satisfied, with the result.

Most difficult part was the research, of how the shoulder-armor is constructed and the making of it.
On the basis of a few freeze-frames, I had recognized three versions of how those "can opener"-metal-sheets are attached; connected to each other. It was really tricky to make those parts fit AND keep as much arm-articulation as possible...

Since I had no reference of the back armor HE's wearing...I had to pick one designs that is visible on other orcs. The belt is also like seen on another orc-soldier.

I decided to keep the original mittens (gloves) + protectors from the base figure, cause I've found the differences of both designs too marginal, but the effort to change it disproportional.

He's not carrying any weapon in the movie...but Come on ?!? .. there are so awesome looking sword designs in that Hobbit-movie... I had to do another one and an orc without a weapon, is like a dwarf without a beard...so...with Azog's words :

"SLAUGHTER THEM ALL !"

The recipe:
Base figure = Lord of the rings Berserker ToyBiz (resculpted chin)
Helmet = modified Berserker-helmet with aluminum and sculpy.
Forearm-armor = aluminum and sculpy.
Shin-and hip-armor = plastic
Back-armor : rubber
Body and shoulder-armor = plastic and sculpy
Scarf = sculpy
Shirt/skirt, belt and straps = Fake leather in two brown tones
Shoes= sculpy with rubber-soles

Sword = polypropylene

Cheers, guys !

My favorite bit is the sword, the naturally uneven shape and the tiny chips in the blade make it look so realistic.
