I had an idea about a year ago. What if Toybiz or Hasbro through buying them had the rights to the Hobit figures? And what if instead of releasing a pitiful amount of figures they did what they did back in the early 2000s and released wave by wave and sets? Wel a great set to buy is the Kings of Middle Earth set and I thought to myself I wonder what counter parts would be suitable figures from the Hobbit films. So now that you've seen Thorin in his armour and my several other customs this is what it's been leading to. Thror and Elendil being kings of Old, Thorin and Aragorn being the new Kings interestingly both hold the title 2 because it's Thorin II Oakenshield and Aragorn II Elessar. Witch king and Khamul the black easterlin who we do see in spectral form at Dol Guldor and is the second in command of the Nazgul. King of the dead and Thranduil are both ancient kings who refused to fight when both Gondor and Erebors need was dire, until eventually they agree and come to the aid of our heros. Dain and Theoden are both great warriors and riders and then Bard and Isildur which maybe Gillian would have been a better pairing but Bard becomes king of Dale not just Lord like his ancestor. These guys are all kings at some point that is the point. So what do you all think? Toybiz did such a phenomenal job With only Hasbro/Kenner also doing a good job with marvel and Star Wars releasing hundreds of characters, this could have been a great gift set, imagine all of the company of Thorin Oakenshield as a set lols. It was planned in 3.75 scale.

G'day Deaditor..Check out my Star Wars collection under my Profile "Battle Star". When I hold a tiny little star wars figure next to an awesome decent size Toybiz figure..It is laughable how Hasbro and Kenner get away with such poor figure offerings..Toybiz is 100% better in every category..

and yes..Bridge Direct should be strung up on the gallows for their terrible venture into 3.75 inch figures..An absolute disgrace..They could have focussed on releasing a variety of 6 inch scale figures..Got me wondering, why didn't Marvel Toys/ Marvel Entertainment carry the banner and continue on with the Hobbit figures..Toybiz did a fantastic job apart from too many issues and repacks on some of the figures.I always thought the 3.75 inch Kenner and Hasbro Star Wars Toys were the best until I discovered the LOTR Toybiz figures..Fricken awesome..

Well I will always prefer star wars in 3.75 inch scale because I have 100s of Star Wars figures and I can understand why they went for both 3.75 and 6 inch to play it safe but frankly the demand wasn't as high. I sold all my marvel universe figures and started collecting marvel legends again about four years back so I like 6" for marvel and lotr etc but Star Wars I make the exception and get angry at Hasbro for releasing limited articulation figures. Really all I wanted was Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and some new first order storm troopers so I got that but when rogue one came out I was looking forward to a new Vader and instead it's back to 5 points of movement -_-

If you wanted to see more of the raven armour I did do a King Thorin custom before I posted this set of characters so check that out lols.

An army of what lols. I'm looking forward to Staley's armoured dwarves I believe he mentioned

Outstanding Work! Very Cool Customs! So upset when they didn't come out with a Dain Ironfoot figure. You are one of the few keeping Middle Earth alive here on the realm! We have a few Tolkien customs in mind our self, hopefully we can join the ranks of the few very soon. Keep up the great work Deaditor!

I think it wasn't handled well and the demand for action figures has declined due to the economy and plastic prices etc resulting in limited detail and articulation cough Hasbro cough sort out the 3.75 inch figures if you want us to buy them. When LOTR came out it was a huge hit and the figures continued for a few years after the films and had different ranges and so the hype was more. But the bridge direct didn't take enough of a risk perhaps and didn't make the line necessarily to scale with Toybiz scale and standard. Like Bilbo is the right scale but the face paint is bad and sting is too thin and Thorin is fine but the hair should have been rubber plastic not solid so it lacks movement. Anyways all the hobbit figures have flaws and no figure by them was perfect but Toybiz had so much range that you could headswap or just find a decent figure. As a kid before customising they were detailed articulated and fun and I ended up as an adult collecting the majority of the figures. But yeah it wasn't handled well by the Bridge Dirrect and it's partly due to poor sales so I guess demand wasn't as high. Maybe if they did lotr and hobbit figures together more people would have bought from them.
