In my opinion there can not be any Sci-Fi without at least a manga/anime figure on it. I know there are many that are considered fantasy but this one I do consider it Sci-Fi. Hunter X Hunter tells the story of an abandoned kid that becomes a hunter (sort of a bounty hunter in my mind), and along the path he manages to find several enemies and other hunters, but out of that list, I find this one remarkable. A bug-man sort of mixture, Meruem is the king of the Chimera-Ant race, and proves to be a formidable enemy during the Hunter X Hunter story. I will put no spoilers in case you have not seen it, but ist a must-see anime.
This figure was made as a commission from a returning customer. It took us months to complete and it was pretty much a scratch made figure. We reused all articulations but all 3 heads were sculpted from scratch. Same goes for all limbs, torso and, well eeverything was scratch built, and of course was later painted from scratch. The eyes were a formidable challenge which, modesty appart, I tink we did pretty good. So judge for yourselves. We leave you with Meruem from Hunter X Hunter
