This is a B.A Baracus custom figure I made in the style of the vintage ‘Masters of the Universe’ action figures from the 80’s.
His overall look was based on the BA Baracus ‘A Team’ figure released around the same time.

To make him I used the head from the actual B.A Baracus figure & the body from a vintage Man-At-Arms figure.

Using a sharp craft knife I started by cutting Man-At-Arms head off just above the articulation point, leaving a small piece of his neck remaining. I then cut B.A’s head off just below the jaw line. I then attached the head to the articulation point of the man-At-Arms body. This means that the custom has an articulated head.

Next I painted the entire Man-At-Arms body using the vintage B.A figure as a reference for colours etc.

I then made him a vest using some old denim fabric. To do this I traced round the vintage Prince Adam vest to make a pattern. I made a few adjustments to the pattern & taped it to the denim fabric. After cutting the shape of the vest out I stitched the sides & spread clear nail polish around the remaining edges to prevent fraying.
I did not use the nail polish around the shoulder sections, instead I used a small needle to roughen the edges of the fabric & give those sections a nice frayed edge.

I then painted the orange stripe details using fabric paint.

At this point I added some fine gold chains & small gold charms around his neck.

I liked how the vintage 12” B.A figure had large blue feather earrings So to finish this custom off I gave him 2 feather earrings as a nod to the 12” figure. To do this I got 2 small silver feather charms & painted them blue with enamel paints. I attached them to his head using 2 small gold craft nails.

His points of articulation are his head, arms, legs & he also has the iconic MOTU ‘Power Punch' waist action.
