Hi, Folks !

This is Kurgash, one of the higher ranked orc generals, who commanded mordor's troops on the fields of pelennor. He was a giant, even among tall orcs and known for his distinctive brutality against his inferiors and enemies, of course.

The were only a few things to remove from the base-figure (Jakks WWE-Kane) : some volume of both bizeps; the wristband on the left, the glove on the right an a bit of the shoe-soles.

The list of the add-ons is a little bit longer :

Shirt and trousers are sculpted. I've inprinted a rough weaving-pattern into the medium cured apoxy sculp. Since I wanted the straps of the shin-armor to be embedded into the fabrik of the trousers, I had to reconsiders this by sculpting slots and tucks.
Straps are fake-leather.
The face, ears, shoes and embossments of the armor is sculpted too. Rubber, or plastic as base for most parts of the armor. I re-casted the hip- and shin-armor of a Gothmog-figure.
Forearm-armor made of aluminum.
All chain-mail is made of a real metal-chain. I like, the way this turned out, a lot ! Wasn't that easy to find such a thin chain in this dark chrome color. I didn't want to use a silver/gold one and paint it... likely the paint would have clotted all the chain-links.

The ponytail is from a Lord of the rings-Eomer helmet. Filed a bit off and re-sculpted the transition from head to it.

I glued black linen on both sides of a
coat-tail from a LOTR-Haradrim-figure, to get a stiff tuck-structure.

Decapitaded head : Jakks WWE "Triple H"-Figure, which neck and closed eyes are sculpted.

The sword is sculpted from scratch. Made of pro-create-sculpy.

I used colors from Citadel and Rewell.

Let me know, what you think and leave a comment.

Best regards !

Staley! Great job on this Orc! I love that you're making these unique orcs that also fit right in with the style laid down in the movies. Another awesome figure!!

Of course I did NOT join ALL the links...the rows are fixated on a flexible foundation underneath.
I'm curious about what you will come up with next.

My next custom? Or next question hahaha. I think if one wanted to literally join them the could use a trick by using string through the links maybe I'll experiment with that, but as for customs just more hobbit stuff I've just finished a really good one which has taken a year to finish but that's a surprise and I've got to finish the back ground displays for several movie shots I want to do haha.

Thanks ! Only the last few links on the ends hang loose and aren't connected with the rows besides. I wanted a frayed look and the links to hang in a natural, physically correct way, depending on how the arms etc are positioned.

Wow must have taken hours to join the links. I know for a fact the team that assembled the lord of the rings chainmail in the movies lost their finger prints after years of working together links of chainmail

Nice, really hench looking Orc. By the way I was wondering about the chain mail and if it is joined together or you just have chains hanging down. I keep considering making a chain mail shirt for frodo or bilbo as I've also bought tiny chains. Usually just to carry the one ring around people's necks.
