I decided to make a few X-Men custom figures and no X-Men collection could be complete without Doctor Henry McCoy - The Beast. Now Beast in the comics stands around 5"11 even though most of his figures has him taller than everyone else, but me being very particular about height, it took me ages to find a base figure that fit. Unfortunately there was no Figma base figure that could capture Beast perfectly with the height I wanted so I decided to try something I've always wanted to do: convert a Marvel Universe figure into a Figma/Revoltech scaled figure. It started off as a Marvel Universe grey Hulk. After sculpting it to size and then adding some Revoltech and Figma joints at the feet, waist, shoulders, elbows and hands, it turned out exactly as I wanted it. I then added articulation at the feet and then grabbed the head off a Marvel Universe World War Hulk because the grey Hulk face was just too aggressive. Beast is the pacifist of the X-Men and he much prefers to be behind a desk reading rather than the battlefield. I then thought I'd like to see this thing with the Classic Beast head so I pulled off one from a classic Beast figure. Now it has 3 interchangeable heads and 4 interchangeable hands, plus 2 books I made out of paper, glue and cardboard for accessories. Hope you like it. ![]() |
