For this 12” princess Leia (slave) custom I used the vintage 1970’s Princess Leia doll as a base.
I started by cutting off all the old dolls hair & re-rooting it. I then styled it into the iconic hairstyle Leia had in Return of the Jedi.

Next I got the costume from a 90’s Leia slave doll. I replaced the chunky velvet skirt from this outfit with one I made using some light weight chiffon fabric. I felt it had a more realistic look & feel for the scale of the doll.

The boots from the 90’s outfit were too small for the 70’s doll. However the dolls feet were very badly chewed so I just trimmed them down with a craft knife so as the boots would fit her.
