So, since I am a big fan of the classic "Saga of the Super Sons" from World's Finest Comics written by Bob Haney, and since I wanted to start fleshing out the characters from the Super Sons universe, I decided I should do one of the other established DC Heroes who appeared during the run of the Super Sons stories (the universe of the Super Sons only seemed to have three other established super-heroes besides Superman and Batman, namely Aquaman, Green Arrow, and the Flash). Now, since in the Super Sons artwork by Dick Dillin, there was no difference between the Aquaman of the Super Sons Universe and the standard Earth-1 Aquaman, I decided I should give the King of Atlantis a slightly more regal makeover, one befitting a king.
So, to do this figure, I took a DC Universe Classics Wave 2 Arthur Joseph Curry Aquaman variant figure, and used the boil and pop method to remove his head. Next, I gave the neck and hands a full repaint with a homemade batch of Caucasian flesh colored paint, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear. While the paint and Flat Clear on the hands and neck dried, I repeated the boil and pop method on a DC Universe Classics Ocean Warrior Aquaman figure to remove that figure's head. Next, I gave the head a repaint with a homemade batch of Caucasian flesh colored paint for the face and Testor's Model Masters Dark Ghost Gray for the temples (this was done to give this version of Aquaman a little bit more maturity and allow him to appear to be somewhat middle aged), followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear. Once the Flat Clear had fully dried, I attached the modified Ocean Warrior Aquaman head to the headless Arthur Joseph Curry Aquaman variant figure, and TA-DA...Aquaman - King of Atlantis!!!
