This is a figure I made of Lieutenant M’ress from Star Trek the Animated Series. She is made to fit in with the classic Playmates Star Trek figures from the 90’s so I used a Lieutenant Uhura figure as a base. The Uhura figure I used was badly faded & had damaged feet so she was perfect for this custom.
To make her I started off by slicing off the majority of Uhura’s hair & her nose & lower legs (just below the boot line).
I then got a toy lion figure by Schleigh & cut off its back legs & tail & attached them to the uhura figure.
Next I used a product called fixit sculpt to sculpt her hair, snout & her hands/paws.
Once the fixit had set I then sanded where the lions legs were attached to Uhuras legs to give her a smooth seamless finish.
I then repainted the entire figure using Humbrol enamel paints.
I wouldn’t normally have to paint her uniform as it is red but in this case I did have to because the original figure was so badly faded.
