Taking a break from Hobbit customs that take time, effort and materials to make here is Haras from AC Revelations, a Templar Knight who infiltrated Masyaf and held Al Mualim and the Assasin order in his grip briefly before Altair ended this threat. I loved the design of a black armoured knight with silver trim and he has such a unique look.

So to make this figure in scale with the NECA AC figures (which I prefer to the McFarlane 6 inch scale), I had to make my base figure taller and bulkier. I took a Helms Deep Aragorn and made his legs longer using multiple Aragorn figure legs and miliput to fill the gaps. The main base figure is a Helms deep 'slashing action' Aragorn (the one with the sword and utility knife but not the elven blade) as he has decent chainmail arms which fit well with the other Aragorn Helm's deep lower arms. The hands are from Faramir and in order to acheive the chainmail effect on the hands I made a press. I pressed a circular piece of miliput on a chainmail arm, removed it and waited for it to dry then glued it to a handle thus creating the reverse for when I press it against the figure sculpt to make an imprint of chainmail. Lots of parts like straps broaches and belts were made from LOTR Rohan armour Legolas pieces and other figures. I sculpted the Pauldrens, Vambraces, Shield, shin guards and the Helmet from scratch using a piece of plastic placed over the are needed and with a thin layer of miliput smoothed over I got to work on sculpting. The Helmet was particularly tricky as its not just a bucket it has curves on it and so to make the Helmet I made a 'bucket' shape out of a rectangle plastic sheet and made it into a tube then sealed the top with a circle cut out of plastic. I use plastic from old folders or plastic packaging that I don't need. Then I sculpted the first layer over the helmet and cut out the eye area. Next I sanded the helmet to acheive the curve of a templar helmet. The next stages involved adding piece by piece each detail on the helmet in this order: The second layer where the White line comes into play that leaves a crescent moon shape on either side of the face, the area around the eyes, the crescent sides, the tear drop parts, the verticle part and then finally the top of the helmet trim. Layer by layer is a useful way of making things from scratch, this was also the way I did the pauldrons: plastic pauldrons, thin layer with of miliput with the line around, verticle line, then complete the cross, then front triangular parts, then the reverse and finally the sides and all sanded down once dried. The feathers and circular parts joining them to the pauldrons were taken from random accessories. The cape is made from a Gandalf robe, the tunic parts both body and kilt re helms deep Aragorn parts (Taken from 2 of the same black tunic Aragorn's) with chainmail taken from a Pelenor Fields Aragorn and placed under to achieve the chainmail effect. The chainmail on the torso sides are from the Helms Deep Aragon's. The chainmail on the head is from a mithril vest Tunic and the gaps were filled in with miliput then pressed with my imprint piece I made. The parts on the belt were made from a Hobbit Gandalf scarf for the square pieces attached to an Iron Man 2 3.75" Robot figure's whips. The head is from an Eomer. I also included a removable sword and sheath feature as the concept art shows him with a scabbard on his right side making him left handed, but not in the game as the only weapon he uses seems to be a crossbow. I made the sheath out of a Balrog Gandalf Glamdring sheath with straps from Rohan Armor Legolas and the sword was made from that Glamdring included as well as two ranger swords from Aragorn to make it a 2 handed weapon.

I believe that is everthing, everything else was just sculpting and painting. I hope you enjoy this, it took weeks and I am happy with it and believe the photos can't capture it very well but it's the best I can do. Please leave a comment!
