MTG Mirri, the cat warrior (Magic The Gathering) Custom Action Figure
Finally! Time to get to my favs! The fourth figure for my weatherlight crew is Mirri, the cat warrior. She's the muscle of the group, well one of them at least. She apparently fell to her death, but years later the thought wizards at mtg brought her back as a vampire! Mirri is fully sculpted on a ml valkyrie (which I got in a trade with galactron, thank you). Cut the forearms about halfway up and replaced them with hellcats (nother tron trade). Also replaced the neck with hellcats articulated neck, and used two extra shield agent heads instead of the womens. The articulated tail is from DC direct cheetah. Ajanis sword slightly modified. And a paint job that would make anyone pull their hair out. I'm going to go into the sculpting a little bit here. Every time I sculpt something I go into it not knowing the outcome, I could fail I could succeed. If a problem arises I deal with it or put it aside til I'm ready, most of the time once I get back to it most of the figure is done and the problem seems a lot smaller. I think the state of mind is more important than skills or knowledge, when it comes to art. All that being said mirri was the character in this set that scared me the most, even more so than the big guy I'm working up to in the pictures. A lot of challenges to sculpt the whole thing and keep that sexy female frame. A lot of users have mentioned using water when sculpting, so I started using water to blend the clay were it meets with the toy and realized it helps to get the clay spread out as well. This made the majority of her body 10× easier. When doing hair don't use anything to thin like an exacto, and make the grain of the hair flow in realistic directions. For the heads I made the snouts first than once they were hard, sculpt the two heads. Please wait... |
