Whew! I thought I didn't finish it on time. I did the pictures with the paint still fresh. I was planning to make another character for the contest but it was impossible to finish it in time (damned February and it's shortness!).
Anyway, unto the custom itself. I grabbed a huge lot of dead cheap non-Marvel DC comics now 5 years ago (I am still reading them!) and discovered the comics of Solar, and with them, Solar the Destroyer. The split being from a superhero is a theme many times made, but in Solar the Destroyer it was made very well, very believable. I made my custom as how Solar the Destroyer appeared in no.29, when he is in another planet and Solar helps him through his virtual reality mode, which I thought it was very cool. I searched for characters to make over and over and finally resourced to my bookcase for ideas. I thought it would be cool to make a character seen through virtual reality. I had to speed up with this custom as I left it much too late. Solar power!
Wow! so many thanks to everybody. Well, as much as it sounds a cliché, I didn´t expect it. I only to decided make him like 4-5 days before the deadline, and thought it would be too rushed up to get a good position. I am very glad it has been so much liked. It is a comic the more you read the more you dig it. I will finish him properly with a few more refinements and post proper pictures soon. Now on to think about the next contest!
P.S: the secret is on the brushes and a trained hand .
Those painted lines look so sharp and flawless. This has got to be one of the best virtual reality style designs of a character. Great work on this Solar!
