Donatello. The Brains. But ol' Donnie has a wonderful sense of humor and I think we'd all like to see him smile more often. This figure was kitbashed with various TMNT parts I had lying around, and I had no intention of forcing the figure into one of the four turtle personalities. Rather, I just built him and let the figure tell me who it was, and this figure just seemed like Donnie as it began to come together.

The figure was made from a Nick Raph with lower arms/hands and lower legs/feet from a TMNT Classic Movie turtle. The Head is from NECA Mikey. Headband from fodder. Belt from vintage Donnie. Custom wooden bo staff with medical tape wrap. The head was modified to adapt to the nick body so it can turn/swivel on the original ball joint. The entire figure was taken apart completely and prepped and painted with vinyl coating and then sprayed with color before being reassembled and then finished with some brush work.

This was a fun, yet time-consuming, project. I learned some things in the process, which is always a great feeling. I'm satisfied with how very durable he is, both inside the joints and out. He'll last a long time and is pretty easy to pose. I just love how you can change and play with the proportions of the TMNT and you get all kinds of cool looking versions. They're just perfect characters to see in various forms and styles!
