This figure was made from a Hasbro’s F4 Ronan series Johnny Storm, ML Xorn’s jacket parts, ML Quicksilver head and other figure odds & ends. This custom is based on the Marvel’s after Age of Apocalypse character design of X-Man / Nate Gray as he is seen in his own title after the Age of Apocalypse. On Marvel Universe Earth-295 designated “the Age of Apocalypse” Charles Xavier died before forming the X-men and in his stead the X-men were formed by Magneto, not before the mutant Apocalypse practically conquered the Earth. In this reality X-Man was created by Sinister by combining the genes of both Cyclops and Jean Gray to become the ultimate weapon against Apocalypse. Due to the effects of the M’krann crystal and his own power X-Man found his way to the main Marvel Universe 616 and founded the identity of Nate Gray. Customizer side note: first “my bad” I forgot that X-Man’s design in the actual AOA was different than the after AOA design, because that’s the real custom I wanted to make (oh well…maybe another time). Second, I’ve seen many X-Man customs, but I wanted to try something different by using the slimmer, less muscular teenage-type body of F4 Johnny Storm (that and I have a bunch of these figures laying around). The Quicksilver head instead of the much too pretty boy head of XMC BOP Angel (also Quicksilver has that arrogant look on his face). Xorn’s jacket parts (hey, if it isn’t broke don’t try to fix it) these are perfect parts. I also included instead of the stiff Xorn hands, the multi-posable hands of ML Movie Punisher. The best part of using Johnny Storm for this custom is that the left over flames makes for X-man’s cool psychic effects.
