Wings of silver, nerves of steel... if you are a child of the 80s, those first few chords of that theme song could get you hyped for yet another adventure in the Limbo galaxy, with those awesome bird themed heroes facing off against a criminal behemoth and his gang of evil cohorts. Sacrificing most of their fleshy bodies for bionic forms built to survive the depths of space travel and beyond, the Silverhawks are still one of the coolest concepts of all time. This is Jonathan Quick, one time school teacher, now virtually immortal hero and field commander to the Silverhawks! Lt. Quicksilver takes his orders from Commander Stargazer, but in the field, combat strategy decisions are his to ensure the safety of his team. His feathered friend is the spy bird, Tally Hawk, a bionic bird able to fire lasers from it's wings and eyes as well as record and transmit data from anywhere back to head quarters.

Built using a Havok body with Speed Demon forearms and a combination of Iron Fist and Speed Demon hands, it's his all original sculpt head with deployed battle mask that gives him his classic look. The wings were forged by casting bits of Toy Biz Archangel's wings, trimming a Hasbro Morbius cape and welding the three together, then molding and casting a single unified piece. Finished by using a fun metallic paint system that gives a minor chrome appearance to his silvery form and then detailing his visor, Quicksilver is ready for light play or display. Tally Hawk is a repainted Beast Boy bird form.

Brilliant work , the additional flight hand is a great touch , have you made an unmasked head ? will you be casting the head?

I actually have molded both, to ensure that the hair was identical between heads, but managed to fail to include it in the shots. I have to resolve that still I guess.

Weirdly I never heard of this show in the 80s despite it being my sorta thing (and me being a HUGE fan of ThunderCats by the same company) and was only made aware of it about fifteen years ago and since then I've watched all the episodes and enjoyed it :P This is an extremely cool custom.
