Mattel made a series of Beverly Hills 90210 dolls in 1991, but they never made a doll of my homegirl, Andrea Zuckerman, played by the lovely Gabrielle Carteris. I decided to take matters into my own hands. Since I'm pretty abysmal with rooting hair, I found a doll with similarly colored hair, to the color and style that Ms. Carteris had worn on the show. A Share a Smile Becky doll proved close enough, but she had blue eyes. A touch up with a Sharpie green permanent ink pen fixed that. It came out a little darker than I'd have liked, but it's alright. Her head was swapped from the poseable Gymnast body to a standard Barbie body, to fit in with the stock 90210 dolls. She's dressed in a mix of 1990s Barbie clothes- jeans from Teen Skipper, and a top from one of the Mix and Match outfit sets that were available on the market at the time (Edit- this was swapped with a t-shirt and denim jacket from two other Barbie sets; Brandon has also been redressed to reflect the change). I had to pose her with Brandon, played by Jason Priestly, since her character was so much in love with him on the show.
