I've always been a huge fan of Glenn, but I hated that we've only gotten 1 figure of this fan-favorite. I thought it was an awesome look when he got all armored up in the riot gear for the Governor's attack on the prison! I couldn't help but make this custom, and, (not trying to toot my own horn or anything), I think he came out pretty good too! The first thing I did was take the riot gear zombie figure with the shielded helmet from series 4 and I removed his head. He had a ball joint built into the base of his shoulders, so his head and neck were 1 piece. I took the ball joint out and f the riot gear zombie figure. At that point, there was just an empty hole where his neck should be. So, I very carefully sliced the upper portion of series 5 Glenn's neck off the base of the series 5 figure. Now I had Glenn's neck ready to be super glued into place of the riot gear zombies neck hole. Once I places it just right, I was able to go in with some Sharpe markers and bloody his face up just a bit to resemble his healing wounds from being beaten by Merle. I used the Gentle Giant's statue as a model for where he still had disable cuts and bruises. I also removed the helmet from the riot gear zombie and replaced his face shield with a cleaner version from the series 8 Eugene figure. There is a small peg/tab on the inside of the helmet's jaw strap directly under the chin. This was originally so it wouldn't move around on the zombie head. I took a small scalpel knife and removed the tab so it could slide over Glenn's head. The zombie's hands weren't in a grip that remotely suggested it was holding a gun, or anything else. They are obviously zombie hands reaching out to grab flesh! So I removed the zombie hands and replaced the swivel with T-Dog's wrist pieces from series 9. I replaced T-Dog's hands with the comic series 4 version of Abraham. This was mainly because trying to paint fingers that hold things (like guns) is just a huge pain because the paint always chips off and then the original paint shows through. Needless to say, I didn't want a Glenn with black fingers poking through every now and again needing a fresh paint job. So I opted for the less authentic yet easier way out by using comic Abraham's gloves instead. Also, if I had used T-Dog's hands, the arms would have been too short to hold his M4 assault rifle. The stock on the M4 rubbed into the elbow crease of his arm. If I had used T-Dog's hands, the handle of the gun would have been too far for his grip to reach. I super glued T-Dogs wrists in place because they had a tendency of popping out of the lower arm. I'm fairly certain that if someone really tried and had more patient than I did, they could build up enough around the edges of the insides of the wrist peg holes to make T-Dog's wrist fit securely and still rotate. Mine still rotate, but only at the glove itself. They are glued so that the wrist can no longer twist. I also used comic Abraham's gun holster and belt to hold his secondary pistol. The final step in this custom figure was simply repainting Glenn's pants green around the riot gear armor. That's it! Thanks for viewing!
