Gutterbug was created when a dump of mutagenic ooze spilled into the sewers of the UK. Flowing down upon a spider who had caught a roach in it's web. Trust into life, he watched from the darkness of "the Great Stink", his hatred for mankind growing by the day. His prison of sludge driving him to the brink of madness, he yearned for escape. Under the cover of night, he stowed away on a freighter ship. As destiny would have it, the ship was a smuggling vessel owned by the Foot Clan. Upon arrival he was discovered by Bebop & Rocksteady, who took Gutterbug to Shredder. Immediately he knew he had found the purpose of his existence.
