I got ahold one of these old Killer Croc figures from one of those kids Batman lines and decided I wanted to do something with him. I always liked Killer Croc as a villain and he isn't usually seen in figure form, or at least in a 6 inch scale. First things first, I bisected him at the waist. His upper half was cool, but the legs were the typical, bow-legged, unmoving kid proof sculpt and I wanted to make him more 6 inch scale-AKA, bigger and more awesome. You usually see Croc in one of two ways-either like you do in the Suicide Squad movie where he looks like a big dude covered in scales or was a more animal type character. I wanted to do a little of both-big monster but you know the guy is still fairly human-I.E. no tail, give him pants and boots. The legs were some random legs I have had in my fodder bin forever, not sure where they came from originally. Unfortunately, their connection wasn't too solid, so I lost articulation at the waist-so Croc can't swivel. Other than that though, the legs still hold a great amount of movement. The only other area I had difficulty with was the boots The legs didn't have feet on them, or joints, so I had to borrow from a similarly scaled figure. I had intended to use a method I've used before with Lego pieces to make them retain their ability to turn side to side, but there wasn't enough plastic left for this method after I had sanded them down. So, while they can still go up and down at the ankle, they don't rotate side to side. Finally, everything was repainted and sealed. ![]() |
