I was playing Chroma Squad again recently (it's a PC game/loveletter to the Power Rangers franchise) and got the hankering for a Black Ranger custom. Parts: •Iron Man Model 45 body (Galaxy Armor?) •Old Iron Man figure's upper arms •Marvel Now Captain America hands Not too complicated of a custom, the arms fought me the whole way though, none of the parts wanted to fit together and had to be modified. Helmet and shoulder armor is sculpted, the center of the chest was modified to fit the Mastodon logo printout. Paint rub isn't an issue because conveniently most of the figure's joints had enough clearance to move without scraping. Used varnish to protect certain areas, especially the white parts so they won't get dirty. Belt is made with folded tape, I'll add a holster when I get around to making the axe/pistol. The morpher is a printout, I'll replace that with a cast from the recent MMPR Legacy figures eventually. Most of the black parts are Satin, but I painted some of the recessed areas with Flat Black so they're like "flexible parts" of the suit. Sorry for the bad pics, but you get the idea lol. ![]() |

All he's missing now is the battle ax.
I see a lot of customizers do solid sculpting, but they don't sand away the imperfections, like fingerprints and uneven areas, so it doesn't look as good as it could. When you have lots of sharp/hard surfaces like here, it's important to refine all those angles.
Check the forum, I posted a WIP of the axe there
For my power ax, just as a suggestion, I fused the ax that came with the recent BAF Odin wave (I think Captian Marvel comes with the ax) and the futuristic tommy gun that came with Chameleon It came out pretty awesome looking in that if he's holding it like an ax it's clearly an ax, but if he's holding it like a gun it's clearly a gun. I'll post picks soon to give you an idea.
Definitely want to see the axe you made, if I had bits to cobble together I would just do that, but I'm going to have to build it from scratch with styrene
