Latest commission piece. Customer wanted an Arkham Knight Batman painted in the classic blue and grey colors. The joints and ab crunch were modified to eliminate paint rub. This piece was painted using an new style I call 'Graphic Novel', which involves dry-brushing the colors for that gritty look, then using a Micron Pen to outline the textures and muscle to enhance the visual comic appearance. This figure made me laugh when I first opened it, because while the body and cape had excellent paints, the mouth section was a light peach color, with brightly pink lips that made the Dark Knight look like he was sucking on a lemon. It had to go. I used a black wash to grit up his mouth bring out the hard contours of his face. I'll also say that this is an excellent base to use, as the body not only has excellent articulation, but very easily removable joints and limbs that are a dream to reattach. Painted with both Testors Model Master acryl, and Citadel paints. ![]() |

I disassembled the ab crunch, and dremmeled the inside so that the inner sides didn't rub against the lower abdomen. And since the shoulder and ankle joints were already black, I didn't have to worry about protecting them from wear.
