The DOF is set like that with manual focus... I manually focus all my shots with a macro lens. I don't shoot fully manual, but I don't shoot on auto either, I tend to like the Shutter Priority setting... where its choses my shutter speed for me, then I fine tune the Aperture (f stops) manually.
But you need a DSLR (or SLR like features) for this, not a standard digital.
Yeah, that's like a big time professional camera. I'm guessing that's part of my problem. I need a different camera. Haha. But I make due with what I have.

I'll have a new custom up today. If you can, drop by it and critique my photos. I'm trying to get better, haha. Still can't get rid of the speckles though.

Well it's not so much that...I learned that if I put the figure back as far as possible and move the camera in I can get rid of the corners. IT's the depth of field that I'm having trouble getting down. Maybe I need a black/white backdrop to get it. I dunno.
Or maybe I need to iron the backdrop I have or something? To get rid of the wrinkles? When I look at your photos it's just like your figures are standing in nothingness...which is great. Mine? look like they're standing in front of a backdrop.

HA, glad you noticed... its all in the angles man... Keep the cam low, and shoot verticle... after some practice those pesky edges will never bother again

Dude, how the hell do you get such a depth of field with these photos? I can't even keep the crease in the backdrop from showing up with my diffusion tent. It's insane.

me too..lol.. but I havent decided if I want one like this... or with the new DCU bodies?????
Hmmm good question. The DCU figures are kinna squarish so I think if tackle it we might want to use them they might look more like a game sprite that that body structure.
Thats what I think too... and the muscle definition on the DCU is even better than the DCSH (which was m original plan) They are somehow very sprite looking... pretty perfect...
